I was watching a nice 10 and 8 point all summer on the land I hunt.

As the sun was going down I saw a deer that had horns the similar shape about 100 yards down through the woods so I got excited and shot. It was a 3 point that was tall and wide.

Nothing illegal about the deer, but just saying that it was an easy mistake.

It's definitely your call, but instead of closing up camp, would upping the penalty to $400-500 do the trick?

The people that hunt it are friends and family. They all knew the rules coming in and the one guy has bowhunted all season.It just felt like they don't care what I want to do with the property . I thought of bigger fines but if someone shoots a small one they might try and cover it up.I am still thinking about inviting one of them back next year but for the other one he told me he is going to hunt his pown property next year. I am going to wait a week or 2 then confront the guy.
