gun season opens in WV on Monday morning.......they are calling for high about 35 adn snow here in the Summersville area......Cant wait !!!

That 35 gonna make it tough to stay put on stand all day but I cant wait either!! One of the few things I still get excited over. Wetzel County here I come!!

I killed my very first buck in Fayette County. Near Lookout behind the Meadow River prep plant in 1990. Happy days!!

the rut is on pretty good here in mineral county,yesterday the 8 point i've been watching almost daily got ran off by a heavy racked 10 pt. right before dark this evening i watched the big boy riding a doe right in the front yard.

Come monday the orange army will be in full force. Glad I hunt in IL now.

Spent friday and Saturday bowhunting... saw several but couldn't get anything to come within range. If I had my 7mm Mag, there wouldn't have been any doubt <g>.

Hope the weather cooperates all week and the deer keep moving.

Worst thing about waiting till the 2nd week is small numbers of hunters our club will have in the woods that week. Doubt if there will be more than 6 of us on 2000 acres at any given time. Fortunately, my stand is set up adjacent to our neighboring club (Fat Boy's), and with luck they'll scare a few over to my side. (my site shares an oak flat with them)
