To each there own I say.

Something about sitting on top of a hill waitingto 'shoot' a deer at 300+yards just doesn't seem fun to me. But that may be fun for others.

I'd ratherbe 'hunting' in the woods and experience everything that goes along with it.That's the way i've done it and always will. I don't get a deer everytime out, but i'm good with that. Still had a good time regardless. YMMV

I like many different forms of hunting although some more to my liking. Couldn't do this all the time but once in a while would be OK. Depends on the circumstances. If I was just going out and sitting down wacking something it might get old fast, but if it was with others, it maybe a lot of fun. I hear ya about the cash.

as stated before, to each his own. ...i know in CA where i am at they have a 1000 yard deer club, where like the first guy, these guys in the club only shoot at deer 1000 yards or farther....some like that kind of in depth technicall stuff while others prefer the average joe....but i think 'most" hunters are somewhere in between...

i like having cool gear and all but to much can through you over!!!! specially if it costs alot! it would suck if you lost it or damaged it. and just sitting on a hill can be boring but i think it gives you a little more flexibility... littlerly you can probably move more
