Does anyone know if this call is similar to the MAD Buck Growl?

I can't find the MAD call in my area and would like to try this call this week.

well today and yesterday i was hunting, i saw about 12 or 13 small buck and only 2 bruisers......all of them were called in with the buck roar.....i love this thing. i would watch the deers reaction and even if they knew something was wrong and started their lil foot stomp dance...if i would hit that they would stillcome closer.....i found the best results when i was up agaisnt a thicket so they would have to come close for a look....i think this is actually better than the buck growl because it has the built in snort/wheeze feature which stopped every deer dead in its tracks (even does).....i love this thing..it secures nicely to your arm with the supplyed arm band so you can have hands free operation even with your bow drawn...this thing is great!!!!

Great stuff. Do know that calls work more on deers curiosity then anything else don't you? Did you try a normal grunt when doing your field research just to see what the different reaction maybe to the 2 seperate calls? BTW what is the "roar/growl" call suppose to simulate(mean to the deer)?

I think its great you found a call that makes you feel more confident but you'll have to excuse my inability to take this all atface value. I guess 25 plus years of hunting andnumber years of guiding has me wondering how I have made it without such a call and why I have never heard it in the wild?? I know whitetails are adaptive but now they have a new language as well??? sorry not sold but you go hard

I think this may be one of the best calls in years. However I think it's only effective for a short time in the pre rut. I watched a nice 8 point doing the "roar" many times for nearly 2 hours the other day.6 more bucks came in to him as he was doing it. He was guarding a doe and was very very charged up. Every time he would roar he would charge at her. Bucks doing this are ready to explode and are ready to breed a doe and other bucks know this and want to come get in on the action. Also the new roar call does a great job of imitating this sound. It may not bring in every monster buck in the woods but its worth having just in case.

yes in fact i did use my regular gerunt tube and it mostly had no effect on the deer unless i expanded it all the way and did what i did with the buck roar.. but still not as effective or loud. and im not sure about the snort wheeze but it stops em dead....

skeeter, deer have been making this sound forever they just could never get a call to duplicate the sound. so nope theirs no new language its just one that you probably heard and thought that it was an aggressive grunt so i guess u wer wrong
