some deer from our hunting area
my 8pt buck from last shotgun season, 65* was sweating liek crazy, 11:30am and i was headed out for lunch when i spotted him and dropped him. i also have a slightly larger 8pt taken from the same stand 2 years prior hanging on my wall. i will have to take a shot of the mount and post that one as well.
this 6pt was taken last year by my buddy's nephew, 11 years old. first deer ever.
here is a 9pt shot about 11 years ago on a cold rainy miserable day about 10 minutes before dark from the stand i hunt now
and this BEAST was a bow kill that the hunter never found. he was shot on the land we hunt on saturday and found by the janitor of a private school 3 miles away on monday. the guy who shot him was sick he couldnt have found him sooner. spoiled meat but a helluva trophy!

RE: some deer from our hunting area
thanks for the welcome guys. i used to browse here a few years ago but never joined.
my fathers buddy that hunts with us claims to have seen a buck as big as the last one posted above on out sept 15th opener. he was about 100yds out, but he said this buck stood motionless for 5 minutes like a "king" surveying his land before proceeding over the hill and out of sight.
i think there is a good chance that i may be sick from work tomorrow and im gonna take my shot at this monster, ive grunted in a 130-140 class 8pt before but in my inexperience wasn't ready for the shot when he came charging at me looking for action and he was on top of me before the bow was ready.

RE: some deer from our hunting area
just wanted to add a pic of that other 8 killed from the same stand as the 8 and 9 from above. my dads buddy killed a 10 with the same size rack as this 8 from the same tree the year between me killing these 2 8's. this spot has produced some good bucks! the other buck in the picture is my first deer ever, first day ever hunting, a small 7pt.
sidenote- the 7pt cost $395 to mount and took 18months, looks like a 5th grader did it [:@] however i found a guy close by that does them for $275 and he did the 8pt. a GREAT job, competition quality. he uses the best supplies and does each one as if he were gonna put it in a show. cant beat the price and only takes him 4-6 months.
