What kind of gun is that? I want to take my 11 year old brother out shooting but not sure what gun to give him- (dont want to knock him over)

His gun is a .243 single shot, NE Arms. Zac is 9, and small for his size. My daughter has been shooting a 25-.06 for 3 years now, and she can handle it just fine. She was 11 when she switched over to it.
