It depends on the stand. If I am climbing i will pull it up
with a rope, unloaded. If I am hunting a ladder, box or loc on stand
I will strap it across my back and climb up with it, again unloaded.

i use a rope the safest way and the best way so you dont ruin your gun either

Most of the hunting courses that i've been to or heard about say that you should use a rope. I usually just sling it over my back. I think the safest thing that everyone here said is to make sure the gun is UUNNLLOOAADDEEDD!!!!!!!!
