I tried my hand at making a mock scrape about a month to 6 wks ago, but not sure it is being used. I made the mistake of not putting it beside a trail, but directly IN a trail. I would refreshen it about once a wk, and while I would see an occasional track in it, I think it was not used as a scrape. Now, I have found a real scrape pop up about 10 yards away. Is it just a coincidence that a deer would put one this close to the mock scrape, or did it play into his thinking? I'm not to experienced with mock scrapes, just wondered what some of you guys think. Thanks

Ive had territorial scrapes in my woods as of 3 weeks ago, and last year when I had the ones show up in rut (about 9 in a line) all of them were directly in the middle of the trail. Id say stay at it, and start keepin it fresh when Halloween gets here.
