I shoot a lot of does asI have a farm that my landowner wants to have some does taken on and I am glad to oblige. He has some real monster bucks on his place and sooner or later my time is due on one on his land. He allows nobody but myself and Hoytgirl to hunt. This has helped me keep my hunting keen and I have shot alot of does over the last few years. The DNR has been allowing unlimited doe tags until each county has their quota filled. I haven't shot a buck now in 3 years asI have set my standards at monster bucks or no kill. I have 180-200 plus class bucks thatI have seen on here, but there has always been a branch or something happen that hasn't offered me a clean shot. Sooner or later though. My wife and I love deer meat and we make a lot of jerky too. To answer your question, I buy one buck tag and many doe tags.

In alabama we can kill two deer a day for most of the season one buck and one doe or two doe's. And are season go's like this bow from Oct 14 till Jan. 31.
Whats that, like 100 deer a season !?!
I used to think that I was a beginner because I don't have dozens of deer under my belt, now I'm thinking that some of you guys need to come north for a real challenge, try shooting a deer when your not tripping over them on the way out to your stands

In this area it is bucks only with permit draws in other parts of the state.
In archery season you shoot whatever wherever pretty much. I choose to shoot just bucks here as the low deer population needs the does. However around some of our cities you can buy one buck tag or I think
10 doe tags a year. That is in the expanded archery season. And in those places shooting a doe is fine with me.

Actually KonaBoy, you have to apply early for the antlerless tag draw, even if your area is 100% if you don't get in the draw your tag will be antlered only. If your lucky enough to live in an area that sells additional tags (up to 5), they will be antlerless tags, but keep in mind they are archery only tags. If you want to shoot 2 deer in Ontario with a gun you need another hunter in the woods with you that has a valid tag (party hunting), otherwise you are poaching.
Well, where I live in Ontario, when you buy your license, you can shoot a buck. You can then apply for a anterless tag (where I hunt it's 100%) so I could shoot anything. The other option is to buy another anterless deer tag, you can get up to three (?) I belive, and they're the same price as a normal license ($36)

Some years we have a earn a buck. We have to shot a doe before we can shoot a buck. Otherwise on my propety we have a youth hunt for kids during the t-zone period which is doe only. It helps manage the number of doe and it is a blast to watch the kids hunt
