The conceptof climbing a steel pole is that if it does not slip on a steel pole, you know it will not slip on a tree of any kind. I also have the facilities to butcher, but athome.:DI'm 66 and weigh 225 and climb 30ft. with ease. I have had these stands for 12 years and Iam very happy with them. To each his own!:)

One uses what he feels comfortable with, and I can understand that.

I wonder if they would work well for tall people (6'4") and how easily you can stand-up in them?

Buck, if you watch the video I posted you will see that 1,755 lbs of construction blocks are hung on the end of the Lounge with no problems. Like I mentioned above, I'm 225 lbs and climb 30ft with ease. Been doing it for 12yrswith out any incidents what so ever.

Buck you can order an Instruction Video before you decide on buying one.

Buck, the ones I have are the older style. I haven't seen the newer style yet. The principle is the same on both, but I don't know about the quality on the newer style.

Give them a call and see if they havegone back to the Old Style of manufacturing. The company was solda few years back and the new owner made some material and labor costs changes, but Bob Brice bought it back. He is the inventor of the Tree Lounge. I went tothe manufacturing facility in Cummings, Georgia back in 1994.

If I remember and have the time, I will stopand visit the plant again in October. I pass it going to and coming from NW North Carolina. If it is Saturday or Sunday.....No Luck!:D:D:D:D

Something I would like to know is, the new ones have a self leveler once you get up the tree. The back bar has a screw in and screw out adjustment to level the stand, I wonder if they make this option available for the older model.
