Has anyone got any suggestions on how to keep deer off of a food plot long enough for it to get rooted well. I'm only planting about 2 1/2 acres (AGAIN). The deer ate everything last year and pulled the roots up, so nothing would regrow. Thanks in advance for any info.

We just try to plant extra seed. Deer are bad, but the dang turkeys give ours the biggest problem. Like feeding a bunch of hogs. They catch the sprout when it breaks the ground and then dig up the seed.

Call1N,
I would suggest sticking a few (2-3) dressed manicins in the area. Arrange them in a fashion in which they can stay put but still move, sort of like a wind direction indicator and every week or so move them around in the plot. As for the sent issue releive your self around the manicins.
I've never tried this but it may be worth a try?
Good luck!

Go to a barber shop and ask to have all of there hair clippings. Take the hair and spread it around the perimiter of the plot. It will keep them away for awhile. This is how some people keep deer outta their gardens!!
