YOU CAN ACTUALLY HAVE FUN WITH THE GUTS. IF IT IS A MORNING HUNT, GUT THE DEER WHERE IT LAY. GO BACK TO THE CAMP AND TAKE CARE OF THE MEAT. GO BACK LATER TO THE SAME STAND WITH A RABBIT IN DESTRESS PREDATOR CALL. THE DOGS WILL MAKE EXCELLENT TARGET PRACTICE, AND IT WILL HELP TO CONTROL THEIR POPULATION. THE MORE THAT YOU TAKE OFF, THE LESS THAT YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT TAKING LIVE DEER FOR FOOD. YOU CAN ALSO GO TO A SECLUDED AREA WITH THE GUTS AND POOR ANTI-FREEZE ON THEM. IT HAS A SWEET TASTE TO IT AND THE DOGS WILL RUN OFF AND DIE. ANOTHER GOOD WAY TO CONTROL THE POPULATION.

I think that poisoning an animal, no matter how much of a nuisance is cruel. Antifreeze causes violent convulsions and can take days to work it's course. Shame on you for suggesting or commiting that act.

Use a properly placed bullet or arrow to quickly and humanely dispatch your prey.

Unbelievable!!!

I hunt close to a cabin that we use year round. I place a tarp under the deer when I got the deer and also skin the deer close by. I place everthing in the tarp and depose of everything in a dump about a mile away. Keeps unwanted animals from coming in by the cabin.

I don't really think that it makes a difference though. I have read other post where people have seen deer cross by a gut pile.

I agree with bluesranger,PLEASE, don't use antifreeze to kill anything it's very in humane. I have personally seen how animals die as a result of AF consumption at my wifes animal clinic, not a pretty sight.

As far as the effects of gutting the deer in the field, I don't see where this would cause any issues with, coyotes.

KEEP HUNTING THE GREAT OUTDOORS & GOD ALIVE, PASS IT ON!

I always gut them where they lie, never had a problem. On many occasions I have seen deer in the exact same area, following the gut drop. The coyotes, birds, will dispose of it right quick. Also deer die naturally, so I don't think guts, remains, will effect them to badly. Ihe only time I would say move would be if you plan to hunt a stand that day, the birds, etc can be a little bothersome. If you are just hunting their that day and then later...no worries.

As for the AF thing, unbelievable is right. Why would you even consider that fun or why even mention it. This is an open forum and anybody...I mean anybody could read that post...no need for added fuel for our Peta pals. Not to mention a kid might read it and think it would be funny on a cat or dog. Just not very cool, think before you type

Stupid meaning knowing better and still doing it.
As far as the dog thing, gut 'em where they lay. The dogs will be through the area, regardless of where you gut the animal, sooner or later.

I'm sure that bit about AF is also illegal. It is in our state.
