Used to a little.
Don't know why it doesn't anymore.
Was walking in the woods & through some meadows the other night after tracking down a deer and there was a ton of ground fog. Flashlight made it worse. Kinda cool walking in the foggy dark listening to the 'yotes.
Didn't have a fear. No super predators (other than man) in my area.

I rolled out my sleeping bag under a spruce tree in a clearing one night. My hunting partner had seen elk the morning before there, and there was no way to approach it quietly. My partner was at the uphill end, and I was at the bottom. About 4:30 or 5:00, a squirrel jumped on me, and I nearly jumped out of the bag. I heard hoofbeats all around me. If I'd have just slept till sunup or a bit before, I would have woke up in the middle of the herd. (Yeah, I guess I was scared)

Woods at night spook me. One season, to get to my stand I had to walk 2 miles along a dirt road that was bordered by dense woods on one side. Then, the last 200 yards, there was a graveyard alongside. I used to dread that walk.

I'd be lying if I said that my imagination doesn't get the better of me sometimes.....I've just about all things that has been said, the dragging of estrus and getting mauled(or worse) by a lovesick buck....a bear smelling the fresh apples in my pack....but the thing that gets me the worst is hearing a Coyote howl or a Bobcat sqawl....carring a bow bothers me just a bit more than carring my .06.....but again, when I get to my stand and get up in the tree, I usually enjoy myself from then until dark......

I've only been scared once when I was rifle hunting, a buddy and I went out, walked across a quartermile cornfield and when we got about 30 ft from the tree line, a mother mountain lion started calling her kits, ya know that high pitched sounds like a woman shrieking sound. Scared the heck out of both of us.
I get pretty freaked now when I bow hunt there because of that, but a lot of times I'll carry a .45 acp with me, I asked my local ranger about it, and he said that the him and the other guys around there wouldn't grudge me that, so it's cool and all, I just hope I never have to use it.
Screw the 10 ring, keep them in the zero!!!

I always prided myself on being able to find any spot in my area of woods in total darkness. I also bragged about how I was never afraid of the woods at night.
Then one time while I was bowhunting that changed real quick. It was an hour or so before sunup with no moon. I got settled into my ground blind and closed my eyes to listen to the peacefulness of the forest around me. About 10 minutes later a tomcat started letting out some godawful sounds about 10 yards behind me. The worst part was in all my years I had never ever heard one before. I was up and out of those woods as fast as possible and told everyone I had heard a bigfoot or an Indian ghost. Boy did they laugh like heck when I described what it sounded like.<img src=icon_smile_blush.gif border=0 align=middle>
The only other time I have been spooked is when deer snort at me from about 5 yards away on the way into my stand. It usually happens about twice a season and it still gets me every time.

one time in oregon we went hunting to an area that was new to me, the guy i went with said that we had to go this way and i said that no let's go back the way we came, after arguing for about 10 mins i figured that he knew where we was......WRONG...... it took us almost 2hrs to get back to the truck, in the mean time it got dark,no flashlights,no moon,no city lights, nothing, on this one stretch of road we walked under this canopy of trees and talk about not seeing anything, it was like walking into a bad dream, all you could see is spots in front of your eyes, have you ever heard a bear or smelled one that was about 15 feet from you and you DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE????????? all we could do was try not to pee our pants and scare off the dang critter without shooting each other or messing up our pants, we started singing the rest of the way to the truck. now i always carry a flashlight or my night vision.
IF IT IS TO BE......
IT IS UP TO ME......
