I would highly recomend getting the Summit Viper XLS. I bought one a couple of months ago. I love it. It is my first climber, and I'm afraid that it is going to spoil me. It hooks up by locking a cable that goes around the tree to each side of the stand. It is incredibly easy (expecially in the dark). I would look at it.

Amen to the Summit Viper. If possible visit friends or neighbors that have different types of climbers and try them out, even if it is only for 15 minutes. I know of a couple of sporting goods stores that have climbers that you can try out at the store out back.

Make sure you check out Buckshot stands.http://www.buckshot-stands.com/ I have the Bigshot model. During bow season you hunt with your back to the tree. During gun you face the tree. Nice adjustable padded backrest. Very comfortable and quiet. It's a little heavier than some climbers but well worth the extra weight.

Summits make great stands, but I prefer the Lone Wolf Alpha climbers myself. The traction belt system is very secure and shhhhhhhh....quiet!!!!

I have a Summit Viper and have enjoyed using it for two years, very comfortable stand, easy to set-up, etc. The only thing about Summit is you better hope you don't need their customer service - it's piss poor to say the least. My experience with them has sent me over to Ol' Man which makes just as good a stand in my opinion. You can sit on an Ol' Man all day and stay comfortable. Highly recommended...
