I know that in IL since the CWD scare it is illegal to supplimental feed deer.
IDNR Quote:
"The Department also is banning feeding of wild deer and other wildlife in areas where wild deer are present. The ban includes food, salt, mineral blocks and other food products, with some exceptions. For example, bird and squirrel feeders close to homes and incidental feeding of wildlife within active livestock operations, are exempt from the ban"

My guess is that it would be legal in IA, I just can't see them making a mistake like that.
And, Zingnut is correct. No bait/corn/mineral/supplements/salt, etc. at any time, in IL. Exceptions are fenced cattle/hog lots and backyard bird, squirrel feeders. You can throw out 1000 trace mineral salt blocks as long as the're in a cattle pasture.
...but you can still buy Deer Cain and similar products.

Yeah dont feed them corn cause in iowa there not used to that.
It is only baiting if you are hunting over it. Otherwise it is simply feeding them.

that's not a healthy way to feed them tho. that corn needs to be kept off the ground in a trough or feeder. once a bunch of deer get in there and mud it up its alot easier for disease to spread with them eating out of dirt n mud. too many deer eating from one location.
