Evening hunting better?
As you guys know, I am doing a little research into deer movement. Interestingly, this years movement chart is different from last years. This year so far, morning hunts have been less productive than last year.
If I get enough information I should be able to do some comparisons of moon phase and position. If everyone could fill out one survey form each week, that could really make a difference. Even if you don't fill out a form, feel free to look at the graphs.

Great information. I've got seven years of deer sightings on graphs. I was going to post some of it here, but can't get it to upload from my Microsoft Excel or from Word.
If you've read my posts and topics "T.R.'s Tips" on on how the moon affects deer you will see most deer biologists don't believe moon position affects deer activity. Research suggests it doesn't.
Your graph looks like every graph of fall deer activity I've seen (which makes me think you are doing it right), and shows no correlation with moon position, because most of your sightings are at dawn and dusk, not spread equally throughout the day.
I think you'll find that deer sightings on a monthly basis may peak aournd the full moon. But, there is another lunar cycle that may affect deer movement, and I'm not sure you are talking it into account. To see correlations you have to use all the lunar factors that affect deer.
How do I post my graphs? If you want I'll try to send you some. Keep up the studies. If I can help let me know.

RE: Evening hunting better?
Hey good field work. TR there was an answer posted by Ausie-Guy in answer to Bow-Tech-Shooter on one of the bowhunting boards this weekend. Think they said, You could bring it up in excel, then take a screen shot of it by hitting the "print screen" button on your key board. Next open the MS Paint program and paste the contents of the clipboard to paint. Then you can save it as a bit map (.bmp) and post it here. Hope this helps. Be safe.

Outdoorsman, the percentages are based upon the actual number of people hunting at each time interval. When it states that 5% of hunters at noon see deer, that is 5% of the hunters actually hunting at noon. Hope that helps.
