Default what do you do?

do like tohunt with others? or do you like to hunt by yourself?

i like to hunt by myself just because some people i hunt with like to hunt 400 yards away from me. especially when i do all the scouting and they show up to hunt and go near me cause they know i have done my homework.
what do you all like to do?

Hey quilly...I am definitely a loner in the woods. I do hunt with my father, in that we travel to the woods together, but we generally go our seperate ways once there. We'll bump into each other occasionally, but I like the solitude... DLuke

I like to have a bunch of guys in camp but usually strike out on my own out in the woods. We sometimes plan mini drives but mostly we go it on our own. After the day is through we BS, have dinner, play poker and discuss the hunt.

I like going to deer camp with the guys I hunt with, although I lost my last to hunting partners due to old age.I love going back to the camp at the end of the day and hearing about what everybody saw during the day and telling them what I saw,but I have always done much better when I hunted alone, not antwhere near the other guys.We used to try hunting in the same ares, thinking that maybe 1 guy would move deer in front of someone else, but that was rarely the case.We tried controlled drives and we would see deer, but most times, because we hunt BIG woods, the deer would be sneaking away, out of range or it was unsafe to shoot. When I hunt by myself, which I've had to do for the last 2 seasons because I dont have any hunting buddies,I always do better.Last year I shot my biggest racked buck and saw twice as many deer as I ever have before. The year before,I shot a nice buck in an area that most of the guys I used to hunt with, always said didnt hold deer when the shooting started. So hunting alone works for me,but I miss the comradery of being in camp with the guys that you (I) enjoy being with.

When I was younger I would always hunt with my cousin, uncle or on occasion I would take a friend. We never really were close to each other though when actually hunting. For years now 95% of my hunting I have hunted alone, I actually prefer it that way. This all started to change last year when my twins at the age of 9 decided they wanted to learn how to hunt. One at a time I have taken them with me during gun season and they did very well. I love my new partners, my most memorable experience with one of them was leaving our stand after dark. Just as we hit the ground we heard a buck grunt, I motioned for her to be quiet, the wind was blowing from the buck to us so I did not want him to know what we were and get busted so I grunted back to him and then motioned for her to trot beside me away from him for about 10-15 quick steps. Then we stopped, he grunted again, only closer, again we did the same thing, grunted and he grunted back, we continued this for over 100 yards until we hit the edge of the field that my truck was parked across from. Once we hit the field we high tailed it to my truck. When we got into the truck and closed the doors, the look on her face was priceless, she said "Dad we were talking to that deer!" The best hunting partner in the world is one of your kids or your parent!!!!!

I do all of my deerhunting and most of my birdhunting alone. My daughter wants to go, but she's three. I tell her that I'll take her when I can (and I will), but I'm sure proud that she thinks she wants to go.

I have been hunting out of a "Hunting Camp" with other guys my whole life. It used to be with friends but now as the years seem to go by more quickly, my (3) sons are all in their 30's and we spend as much time together as possible. We also have a few friends that join us and the anticipation of Opening Day at the camp with good family and friends is as much a part of excitement and anticipation as the actual hunt. Once in the woods, we all go our own way. We all hunt from treestands, for the most part, and we all know where everyone else is. We also have our own signal and when someone tags, we meet up and help our other buddy with draggin' out his deer. Of course depending on the time if day, he may not see anyone for a few hours, but we all know in a matter of time, we'll all be together celebrating. If necessary, I will also hunt alone. I will certainly do this often enough, especially when I have the chance to go in the deer woods and the other guys are unable. We hunt when we can, alone, with one other guy or with everyone from camp. It is this type of comraderie that makes deer hunting enjoyable to me!

I hunt with my son when work permits. If he can't hunt, I hunt alone.

i hunt alone-always. i dont wish to hunt with others as that would interfere with my solitude. i might be selfish there but it would`nt be enjoyable to me other wise.
