Default Baiting Warm Weather Deer

Members,

I hunt in MD and NJ where baiting is legal. I had great success in December as temp's got below freezing. We have had unseasonably warm weather in January and I have not seen any deer. I could not feed them fast enough, now I have 1000 pounds of corn laying untouched. Do you think it is the weather, or just the pressure the deer have received throughout the season. Anyone have success in the last weeks of the season?

Pierce

have had similiar situation, this was once told to me, corn is a starch and it causes the belly to warm up,with warm weather the deer will not eat as much, or the corn has soured, hope this helps.

i also hunt in nj and we are having similar problems now man, we are having a few does come in, you know, the regulars, but now that the snow melted away its really tough. When the snow hits the ground and it gets cold were set but when its gone its slow. Im hunting winter bow right now so im not minding the warm weather but it does make for tougher hunting, adds to the challenge i guess
hope this helps ya know your not the only one lol

I know down here in texas it depends on the area you hunt in. Where I hunt vegetation is limited and deer come to the corn every day no matter what the temperature is. However, some times they limit there activity until after dark.................Then again it may just have to do with the amount of pressure in your area and some times when you frequently visit a stand you can push the deer away or even make them go nocturnal I think if it is possible maybe hunt another location or just give your area a break.........not sure if this helps but just thought I would pass these ideas along
