Trace mineral blocks for deer

Default Trace mineral blocks for deer

Hey guys wanted to know if trace mineral blocks are good to put out for deer.Tractor Supply has them but there for cattle.Will they work for deer?When would you put them out?Thanks alot

It took them forever to find it at my house but when they found it it was goneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeee. I didnt see any bucks out of that stand though so i dont know if it helps the racks that much

The best time to put it out is at the end of winter when they start replacing there antlers.I never have seen deer in it,but I've seenwhere they tear it up.

Put it out in the spring. They will hit it hard in August & Sept. until they are out of velvet.

I agree with the two posts above. Deer will hit it hard throughout the summer months. But going into fall things change. Apples ripen, corn fields are being harvested, acorns start falling and the rut is just around the corner. Everything in the deer's world starts to change in the fall. They become less interested in the salt and minerals and more interested in eating and fattening up for winter. They'll still go to it, but not as often as before.
