Ive got a question when you rifle hunt from a stand and say you are 25 feet up and the deer is 10 yards from your tree would you have to aim low as you do with a bow?

More times than none,, you will aim normally, your bullet flies flatter and faster than an arrow. ButI dont know too many people that will shoot at a deer under 10 yards. If hes that close he should have been shot within 50-100 yards depending on the situation, amount of cover, etc. All my deer have been shot between 40-170 yards.

I'll say no, because I have never done it. shot a doe at 18 yds with a 30-06 and had nothing as far as point of aim problems.

I shot one @ 12yds this year with 30-06...put crosshair behind shoulder. Did not try to compensate for short distance.Shot from my bowstand because 2 days earlier with my bow I could not get this buck to come inside 40 yds[:@]Wanted to get him with my bow but at least I got him

I shot an 8 point in Mississippi a few years ago at about 5 yards. He came out of some tall grass and there was no way to get any other shot. Any other direction and I could have shot him anywhere from 40 to 100 yards. I put the cross hairs right between his sholder blades and shot him straight down though the spine.

I shot an 8 point that was right under my stand and the poi was the same I have missed deer with my bow due to that though. I dont think at that close you should aim different at that close other then remember your bullet will strike probaly 2 inches lower due to your scope being that much higher than your muzzle

if the deer is under 200 yards according how you have your gun set shoot right behind the shoulder. i have my 30-06 dead on at 2 hundred yards and aim right behind the shoulder if there with in 200.
