2 tripod stands that sit in open grassy, brush covered and occasional clover field. With a set of binochs you can see anything that twitches out to 4-500 yrds inc 4 field corners. We refer to them as Tripod west and East.
Not easy to get in or comfortable to sit in but I have seen and shot alot of deer out of these 2 stands.

I hunted a small set of woods (20 acres) this year and it only had room for 2 stands. The property neat to it is several hundred acres of swamp. I found 2 tralis coming out of it and heading for some other farms.and set a stand on each. A lot of cover and very wet but well used. A friend killed a doe and a 5 point out of 1 and I got a 7 point out of the other.

My "best" tree where I love to put my climber on is on the top of this ridge where the deer come off the field in the mornings. They come to this old fence line that is on the edge of a good thicket and harwoods. They kinda stage there until they feel safe to come into the hard woods, I can get a real good look at them before they come down the trail 20 yards to the right of my tree! Boy I wish I was in that tree right now....

I like hunting the edges of thickets where they meet the woods.

I would have to say my favorite spot to hunt is this 20 ft ladder stand on two ridges seperated by a swamp bottom plus there is a soybean field on the edge of it ( didn't get to hunt while the soybeans were growing this year, but it should bring them out in bow season) and the trees the deer can get horns on a rubbed to death. even though i havent killed a deer off of it yet i like it because of its natural beauty and peacfulness.

I kill my deer right up the road from there though. I know there are B&C deer there i just havent seen one there yet, but with a 7 and an 8 point i am not complaining.

Got lots of good spots but my best spot by far is a funnel created by a narrow draw with a fence corner that pinches several travel routes down into a 15 yard wide funnell. Killed two wall ahngers and a truckload of does there. Also have seen two whoppers in the last twoseasons after I had already filled my tag with wallhangers.

My spot is in a nice big thick poplar tree on a cut line looking out into a small field that is surrounded by trees and there's a heavily used game trail right below me. Have harvested a few from this spot but surprisingly enough in 3 years still no buck or bull
