How to hunt this buck ..field Pics
I have found some scrapes in the last few days but I am not sure how to hunt this buck. The land that I hunt in Alabama is about 150 acres and for the most part is as about as wide as it is long. The bottom land lays to theeast and the mountian land lies to the west...there is a narrow power line cut over that runs north and south ...where the mountian land ends there is an Alabama state park. I have to walk through the cut over via a field road to get the the foot of the mountian. The scrape line runs north and south just inside the woods on the mountian side of the property and not 50 yards from the cutover ... I am having a hard time figuring out where he is bedding ...my gut tells me the cutover because all he would have to do is walk 75 yards to cruise his scrapes ...BUT the mountian land would give him the high ground .. very thick ... the wind seems to swerrel just like in most mountian property but if there is a prevailing wind then I would say its most likely a south westen wind .... where the road divides the cutover the scrapes lie just about 50 yards north as you get into the woods ... here are some field pictures ... the first picture is of the road I have to walk in on going west towards the foot of the mountian through the cutover ..I plan on posting several pictures ...and feel free to give me your thoughts ..
