I go as high as I can go till I hit the first branch. This gun season I shot my ten from a tree I was 45 ft in. The reason you ask why I'm that high. Is because I have a gun and not a bow. From that tree I could see two swamps, 3 ridges and a high line. What a sweet spot.

the better i can see, the higher i'll go, usually 25 to 30 ft.

It is quit a view. You have confidence in your stand when you can see 5-6 pinch pts. I shot a big doe the first morning and a ten pt the second mornong. First time I ever sat this place.

Well I have one of those climbing stands and I dont even go into a tree if a i cant be 20 feet or higher my perferable height though is 30-40 feet.

Around 15'. Any higher is too high for me!! ;)

I only use tree stands in Canada. Usually about 15 feet.
