How high up do you climb in your tree stand?

I usually go 15-20ft. Just curious to see how high you all climb.

if the vegetation on the ground is high say 6-8 ft i go just above that so i can shoot over it. if the veg is low and the floor is clear i tend to go higher.

I have an 18 ft. rope that I use to raise my gun or bow into the stand. Before I climb up I tie the rope to the top part of my climber. When I run out of rope or close to it I feel that I'm high enough in the tree to effectively have my scent winded up and away.

Right up to the very edge where the tree meets the ground. I have never been in a tree stand.

used to only go 15 feet but then after consatant harassment for my buddy I now go 25 feet. I did notice that at fifteen feet I would ocassionaly get "winded" or spoted by the deer but for the last three years since iI have went higher I don't get winded or spoted at all.

I find that if I try to go higher than 18 ft. the limbs start to become a problem.

Down here it's mostlytall Pine trees and in north FL,I try to find a tall Hickory. I have climbed Live Oak trees and tied the seat part of the Tree Lounge with a long rope and pulledupto install on a good branch in the tree. I like this way best! Deer have come right to the bottom of the tree looking for acorns without seeing or winding me.:)
