Nice pictures dd and thanks for sharing.
If your going this year are they taking on any more clients?
I notice you were gun hunting but what about bow hunting there?
I was just curious what a hunt like that cost and what is provided?
I would not mind entertaining a hunt such as that if you can fill me in on the details and also, where's is it at in Alberta as I just bought a kabin up here.
I also enjoyed reading the story on your web page, good job.

Bobby

Thank you Bobby .... if you did go to Alberta for a hunt I can assure you it is a unbeleivable total experience .... My outfitter is Don Tyschuk and we hunt area 508 in the Borel area ... as for cost and other information you can check out his web site by either going to my web site and clicking on "Links" or just go to www.albertawhitetailconnection.com ...... Bobby if you do get serious about going you should call me and let me tell you a few things to expect and what to take .... just let me know and I will give you my number. When I last talked to Don he had 2 openings for 06 and was booked solid for 07 ..as you know he only hunts 6 rifle hunters per year ..as for a bow hunter I know he take one every year but you would have to talk with him about that ..

Awesome pictures DD. What a beautiful area to hunt. I am definitely considering a hunt with them in the future. A little more $ than expected, but it seems as though everything is taken care of.

Neb. I know it aint cheap and I am NOT a paid spokesman for Alberta deer hunting however the price that Don charges is well worth the money. I selected him only after hunting in Saskatchawan 2 times. There I was hunting with about 20 others ...and hunting AFTER 20 others and it was about the same price and obviously the deer had to feel SOME preasure and plus you do not get the same attention fron the outfitter with so many hunting ...as a matter of fact on my second hunt in Saskatchawan I only saw the outfitter the day we were picked up at the airport after that all I saw was a guide. I can assure hunting in a small camp like Don has is much better and a lot more fun. As for the cost I live in Alabama and if you were to go to a place like Westervelt Hunting Lodge in south Alabama they charge $650.00 per day and you will see a lot of deer but very few shooter bucks much less a chance at a booner .... $650x6 days is 3900 ..not much difference in a Canadian hunt ....

DD, I totally understand where you are coming from. It's great to have less hunting pressure when you are the big buck. It sounds like they are realy the place that I would like to hunt someday. I guess that I'll just have to save a little longer to have a chance at a better buck. I honestly didn't expect a Canadian hunt to be cheap though. What could you really expect for under that any way? A less productive hunt I am sure. Roughly how many shooter bucks did you see while you were there?

Neb it depends on how you define a "shooter" buck ..the first Time I went to Canada and being from Alabama a "shooter" buck was MUCH smaller then it is NOW LOL ... the first year I shot a MONSTER bodied buck that scored around 135 and THAT was a BIG buck for me at the time and I was extreamly happy ..however now I call a shooter buck a165 class or larger. I can tell you that if your looking to see a LOT of deer Alberta is not the place to go ..you will always see more deer in Saskatchawan because they can bait the deer there ... if you want to see BIG bucks and take the chance of coming home empty handed then Alberta is the place to go IMO ... last year I sat the first day for 11 hrs and saw just one doe ... saw only three deer the next day one being a doe the other two were 150 class bucks ... a LOT of it really depends on the weather ...the big bucks like it COLD before they will get out and roam ... last year I hunted a full moon on the 4th week of the rut ... and it worked out well for me although I did not see that many deer but then again my hunt ended on the 3rd day of a 6 day hunt ..Im sure I would have seen a few more had I been in the blind.

To be a shooter is probably 140+. The largest that is on my wall now is probably my mulie, although I haven't had either of my bucks officially scored, which is probably a 130-135 class buck. It doesn't matter to me how many deer I would see, to be totally honest. Part of the hunting experience is just beign out enjoying nature and all that is given to us and it looks absolutely beautiful there. I would love to hear more about your hunt there and what else a person could experience on a hunt in Canada.
