Default RE: Pictures from My 04 Alberta Deer Hunt.

Neb it depends on how you define a "shooter" buck ..the first Time I went to Canada and being from Alabama a "shooter" buck was MUCH smaller then it is NOW LOL ... the first year I shot a MONSTER bodied buck that scored around 135 and THAT was a BIG buck for me at the time and I was extreamly happy ..however now I call a shooter buck a165 class or larger. I can tell you that if your looking to see a LOT of deer Alberta is not the place to go ..you will always see more deer in Saskatchawan because they can bait the deer there ... if you want to see BIG bucks and take the chance of coming home empty handed then Alberta is the place to go IMO ... last year I sat the first day for 11 hrs and saw just one doe ... saw only three deer the next day one being a doe the other two were 150 class bucks ... a LOT of it really depends on the weather ...the big bucks like it COLD before they will get out and roam ... last year I hunted a full moon on the 4th week of the rut ... and it worked out well for me although I did not see that many deer but then again my hunt ended on the 3rd day of a 6 day hunt ..Im sure I would have seen a few more had I been in the blind.
