Default 1st Hunting Season

Well fellows just want to brag a bit...M son Brody is 6 and this is his first year to hunt (with a gun).. On youth weeekend he killed a 105 lb doe one shot in the neck... The following Sunday and 120 lb doe bit the dust.. ON the Wednesday before Thanksgiving at 7 a.m.// he killed a 180 lb 8 pt... It had a 16" inside spread and was 20" inches long.... Ihave not fireda shot but so far this is the greatest season I have had.... Thanks for listening....

Where do you live that you can start hunting at 6?

If My daughter had a year like that and I got nothing it would still be a great season for me.

What gun and caliber is he shooting

Congrats to you and your son!! Can't wait until my boy is interested enought to actually do the shooting, he is 6 also, but doesn't like the shooting part yet.

Thats great for the both of you. You two will have alot of good times. I am also wondering what states you can go hunting at 6. but anyway congrats to both of you.

Really AP? Here in NY I think you have to be 12 for small game and 14 for big game. Do they require you to pass a hunters saftey course, like in NY? This inspires me to start a new thread...

We are in MS.. Here there is no age minimum or maximum.. The parent has to use common sense when dealing with this.... Brody has been shootong his .22 all summer and practing with his youth model .243...I would not let him shoot at an animal if I didn't think he was ready or could make a good shot.... You know the funny thing he was not that nervous... But GOD I was .....
