i have to agree with chuck7 i use a winchester 30-30 and i shoot 125 grain hollow point reloads that ,MY BUDDY GIVE ME ANDTHEY ARE MEAN SON OF A 'S HOWEVER I WOULDN'T MIND TO HAVE A 308 OR A 25-06.

Bet it won't kill them any deader than my 25's. 250 Savage and 25-06. I know because I have had all three. I have also had the 257 Roberts.

That aint got nothing on a .257 Ferguson hot tamale.

30-06 is my favorite deer cal.......
I use both 130gr.Barnes X for open country (SWITCHED FROM 150gr. NOSLER BALLISTIC TIPS) AND 165gr. SIERRA GAME KING..

There are 3 guns that I have used that dropped the deers in their tracks more than 3 times. 30 30 3006 and the 7mmRM.I would have to say that the 30 30 has killed more deer than all the newer calibers combined. The 30 30 I have gone back to it in a bolt action and don't need nothing more than that where I live and hunt. the 30 30 will allways be around and the ammo is still cheap.
