Rem.1100 rifled barrelw/cantileavered scope mount.

For me....H&R Ultra Slug Deluxe in 12 gauge or occasionally an old JC Higgins 12 gauge pump (smithed to 18-1/2" barrel w/ rifled sights brazed on) in thicker woods/timber.

My oldest boy also shoots an H&R Ultra standard in 20 gauge.

instead of using a shotgun with a slug, why don't you use a slug gun, thats made for slugs. Its more accurate that just a shotgun with slugs. I do know some jackasses that shoot slugs in a shotgun at deer out to 200 yards.

Ithaca 37 Deerslayer with slug barrel


Both of the Mossbergs willgroup about 1.5-2" at 100 yds. with Rem Copper Solids
Ithaca will group about 3" at 50 yds. with Brennekes (exc for smoothbore)
S&W about 5" groups at 50 yards

Right now i have a Winchester 1300 Black Shadow Speed Pump in 12 gauge. I like semi's but they jam more then pumps. I love my winchester.

A slug gun is a shotgun. There are smooth bore shotguns you can use rifled slugs with or rifled chokes. Then there is a shotgun with a fully rifled barrel. All are shotguns and all are slug guns if you shoot slugs out of them.
