remington buckhammer

Haven't seen a deer shot with one yet - my nephew will be trying Fri/Sat/Sun. Put a Mossberg rifled/ported/scoped barrel on an old Mossberg 500 and at the range it shoot VERY well w/ 12 gauge 2-3/4" Hammers. I haven't ever seen a slug make such a clean cut, large round hole like these do.
I was very happy with them.

I have an 1100 20 gauge that I started using last year and they shoot really well through them. I have not harvested a deer with them yet as I usually tag out (at least, doe tags) in bow season.
My gun really prefers the buckhammers. I tried the Winchester Platinum tip sabots and the groups were several times larger.
I think they would really do a number on deer. Just the wound channel would be huge and they should pack a punch at short ranges.
