not a stupid question, but more than you could eat and more than you should kill in a year, shoot a few does along the way, i have killed almost 30 in a season, and am now ashmed of that fact, a good year for me is 5-10 deer, i like to kill at least one buck (scrub or whatever) and one nice one if possible, last year i killed 2 does with my bow year before that i killed 4 bucks and 7 does, we use deer for everthing, chilli, hamburger, tenderloins, cube steaks, you name it. 11 was really too many, 2 was not enough, 5-7 would probably do us great
the best thing for bama deer would be to thin the herd by killin some does, i can not for the life of me understand why some people who say they like deer meat to not kill some does, our hunting would be much better if the buck/doe ratio was a little less than 20/1 or worse[:@]

thanks yall, i was just concerned that i would only be allowed to take a couple of deer per season. i guess it depends on how lucky i get. im from birmingham, ill probly be huntin out past tuscaloosa though at my buddy's huntin club. i hear ya on the deer meat, i get the best jerky in the world from the deer my friend shoots each year. mmm mmm good!

Definately not a stupid question Johnny. It is your responsibility to know and fully understand the rules and regs BEFORE you go hunting.
A stupid question would come after the warden is busting you and telling you what you've done is illegal, you say, "I can't do that?"
