Saskatchewan 270 net NT whitetail??????
Hi Guys,
Yesterday I did a serch on google and a story was out that a huge Non Typical was taken with archery in Saskatchewan which nets 270 Non typical. I guess this would have been in late September. Anyone with any info or pics? Skeeter since you are from there, any news? I will be there in 4 weeks and will ask around. Can't wait to be in Saskatchewan!!!!! This will be my 8th year in a row

I haven't heard of a whitetail that size, but I have heard about a non-typical mule deer in the 270" range. Here is a link to some info:

One web site it said a Monster buck and on another one it said whitetail buck. I would say that it's probably a mule and not a whitetail not that it woulnd't be possible in Saskatchewan or Alberta

Rumor I heard was mulie buck taken with string and sticks. Appears the link byreallybigbuck confirms& puts a picture to the story floating around. I'd say it is most likely the same deer asI haven't heard any rumors of a big NT whitetail takenof the same or near that caliber.
Cormier, I will say this is looking to be a great year for horns. The moisture came just right and antler growth is going to benefit huge.
Here's a look at the Mulie.

Thanks Skeeter. Where are you from in Saskatchewan. We hunt the Melfort area. We like it there as we can hunt farmland and the Fort at the same time. We usually bait in the Fort. We know big ones exist but we got our bigger deer in Farmland. The best of both worlds. Skeeter, here is a pic of my scouting camera in the area where we hunt. I would say he's in the 150's but this year.......... who knows. Good luck hunting skeeter

Cormier, Saskatoon. I hunt a number of areas depending on the species. I spend a fair amount of time for whitetails in the Spiritwood/Mayfair area, as I have a cabin at one of the lakes in this region. It is similar to the Fort area but more sections of bush. The past few yearsI have spent more time hunting the ML Zone, lots of animals with sparse bush sodifferent form of hunting than I am accustom to, it's been a reallearning experience.
Thats a great picture and really shows the stature of these prairie bucks.Best of oluck getting a look at him this fall.
