Hey nchawkeye, I was in Gates County a couple of weekends ago. Me and the kids spent the night on the island at Merchants Mill Pond. Did a little fishing but didn't catch anything.

Cloud...When hurricane Isabel came through there was a 100% fish kill in Merchants Millpond...might want to give it a few years....used to be good fishing in there for bass, bream, catfish and specs....I also used to kill some good bucks back there...Before some guy from VA bought it and gave it to the feds for a park...No hunting allowed anymore...
