I went out last night and by the time i got up in my stand it was 4:30 p.m. and i'm sitting there and all of a sudden i look to my left and forty yards away is this six pointer. He was walking right were i had walked in and was getting a little spooked but he kept coming closer ever so slowly.I still didn't have a shot yet but i knew i need to take the first one i got. At about thirty yards he presented a shot so i took it(I'm using a Remington 700 ML w/ a scope and Hornady SST 250 grain)The Shot hit the right shoulder and angled through and came out in the middle of the rib cage on the other side.The deer went maybe fifty yards before going down. The damage that the SST did was amazing, it completely shattered the right shoulder and there was nothing left of the heart except for the top part or maybe it was the bottom part i'm not sure. So in all i was in the woods for maybe an hour! Gotta love the short exciting hunts.
