LOL Scrider.

My fiancee has tried every trick in the book to keep me out of the woods, but I think she's finally broken. There comes a point in a woman's life when she realizes that your hunting obsession gives her plenty of idle time to shop, shop and shop. In addition, your "hunting problem" gives you limited "complaining power" when it comes to filing such complaints abouteither the quantity and quality of said shopping trips.

Tangled webs we weave, eh?

The first time a girl would ever try and tell me not to hunt she would be dumped. Fortunately the girl I got now is real good about things. She grew up in a hunting family, and although I go 20x more than her dad ever did, she knows what I'm all about.

In 1968 I married a girl from the Smoky mountains
with 6 hunting brothers. At the age of 16 shewas
already hunting Bear with her uncle and brothers and
had her own bear dogs. She could go out and bring back
a mess of squirells for dinner.
She has always been in the woods with me on
every hunting trip except out west and Canada. She
has her own rifles and shotguns and are the first ones
you see when I open the gunsafe.

well i have a GREAT wife (this time) ...she understands my urge to hunt and be in the woods ... My best friend Chris (also my son) told his wife before they got married that she needed to understand before they got hitched that she should never try to come between him and his dad ..or him and his hunting .... they have been married 11 years ....

My wife once made the mistake of coming between me and fishing , I literally threw my license in her lap and didn't fish for nearly four years , and hardly a day went by without me reminding her that she was the reason . Recently she threw in the towel and all but begged me to go back to fishing . I agreed to do so , but only on one condition: IF YOU EVER TRY TO DO THAT TO HUNTING YOU'LL BE SLEEPING ALONE UNTIL YOU DIE . I'm the Emperor of the Prick Universe , so she knows that I mean it .

The best advice I can give is don't get married period . That said , if you really must stoop to marriage at least have the sense to marry somebody who likes to hunt and fish . Just think of the fun you could have during those slow days in the pop-up blind ...

Man, you guys slay me. Alot of truth on these pages. Especially about the "things" that get scheduled to interfere with hunting. I didn't get married untill I was 33 and was the case study for the inveterate bachelor hunter. My wife knew this before we got married, it was explained very carefully. Whats funny is that I even got her into hunting, she shot her first deer last year. The new is kinda rubbing off the hunting for her though, and she's loosing interest. I think the main problem is that youngest son (9) is getting as addicted as his dad, and maybe thats causing some some issues. Anyways, you work through them. When gas prices went up she said we were going to have to cut down on that hunting stuff. Deadpan, I said "Your right, probably gonna have to cut down on those shooping trips too". Hasn't been an issue since.

Nope! Annie Oakley did'nt know how to cook or make
a wedding dress.
Mine can even drive a logging truck! And was Calender
girl at high school.
Her uncle was avery well known bear hunterin
the WNC mountains.( BILLY FINGER) My wife introduced
me to MR.Plott from Franklin, NC back in 1968. He is the
originator of the plott hound breed.

If I lived 2 life times, I will never find another one like her!
