A couple of years ago I loaded some 100 gr. hollow points for my 7mm mag. to do some extreme varminting. I found about 35 rounds the other day and was wondering if these loads would hold up to deer size game or would they blow up on impact? I shot about 10 rounds and discovered that they are grouping less than 1 3/4" @ 200 yards. Anyone had any actual experience using a bullet this small driven at high velocity (3500 fps)?

I would think that because they are hollow-points they would explode on contact. Not sure on this, but I'm not sure I would be willing to chance it....keep them for the varmits.

Cloud...I expect they will do just fine...I have used the 85gr Sierra GameKing HPBT in my .243 for the past 3-4 years....Between a couple of buddies and I we have killed about 30 Gates County deer with...LOL
Most people hear "hollow point" and automatically think that they "blow up"...this is not the case....I have found that I get better penetration with the 85gr HP than the 100gr Sierra GamdKing SPBT
Do you remember what brand 7mm HP that you loaded up with???
That can make a difference....I have also killed many deer with a 22-250 and hollow points...back when Gates County had a .22 Law.
