how wide was he?

he has a lot of kickers.. I think the key word here is GROSS b/c he would have a lot of deductions. He is a very nice deer. Its just hard to say w/o a front pose. What is he a 15pt?

That cracks me up, that people would "deduct" from a trophy like that. Anyone I know would be pitching a tent, and I don't mean at base camp, to harvest an animal like that. That is a great great deer in any book, and to take anything away from an animal like that makes me laugh. I think that we shouldn't rely on the trophy guidelines so much when crediting a great animal.

Come on guys! You are taking the word "deduct" out of context! Gross vs. net scores are mostly word pictures, to show symmetry.
Of course anyone would be proud to take a good buck that grossed in the 150's! Its just that if he "nets" too low due to deductions, he'd be better off classed as a non-typical!

AMEN AMEN AND AGAIN AMEN TOM ..... YOU TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH... I DON'T CARE IF THAT BUCK"NETS" 100 THERE IS NOT A HUNTER ON THIS FORUM WHO WOULD PASS IT UP BECAUSE OF THE "DEDUCTS" ITS A TROPHY IN ANYONES BOOK..... THIS DEDUCT CRAP REALLY CHAPS MY BUTT MOST OF THE ONES THAT MENTION "DEDUCT" HAVE NEVER TOOK A BOOK DEER ANYWAY AND THEN THEY WANT TO TALK ABOUT "NET".... BONE IS BONE ( GOOO BTR ).... HAD GOD INTENDED ALL BUCKS TO BE SYMMERTRIC HE WOULD HAVE MADETHEM THAT WAY AND THERE WOULD BE NO NEED FOR BOONE AND CROCKETT...AND MASS AND CHARACTOR RULES IN MY BOOK ... of course I might be just a tad bit bias ... ;&gt)

Anyone who really believes in "net" scoring is not seeing the forest for the trees.

Anyway, that's in the 150's very easily, no doubt about it.

A sidenote: if you use those silly deductions and "net" score your deer, is it possible to have a buck that winds up with a negative score? (Assume, for amusement purposes only that a buck can sprout a 3-foot sticker point, etc.)
