scope price
I was just looking in my 2004 Shooter's Bible and it shows that the Leupold Vari X III rifle scopes are 500-800 dollars. I know that can't be true, but Leupold's website doesnt list prices either. Can anyone tell me what price im generally gonna be paying for a Leupold? I have also heard Simmons Aetec is a pretty popular scope. Is Simmons a less expensive/good quality scope?

RE: scope price
i haven't bought any variXIII in a few years, the last on i purchased was just over 400, in the past 4 years i have bought 3 simmons aetec scopes, around 150$, they are worth every penny and probably more, it's not the variXIII, but i have one on a m/l'er, and one on a barrel for my encore, and on one my beater (nef)yote bustin gun, i have not experienced any problems, go to the guns page and do a search for the aetec, i don't think you'd be disapointed. if money was not a big deal, i'd still buying the leupolds, but with the family and a small farm there alwaystoo much month at the end of themoney[:@]
good luck, let us know what you end up with

RE: scope price
Go to Cabelas's web site and look or Bass Pro.
I also agree that you can buy a scope that will do the same for A LOT less $$$. Its like comparing a BMW to a Toyota. The BMW is going to be a lot more $$$, but a Toyota will also get 300,000 miles.
