Default Can You Freeze Deer P ?

I was thinking maybe you could put your left over deer p in a freezer container,
And freeze it for the next year.

My question is will it work or will it make the deer p useless ?

Or has any one ever tryed it and did it work ?
Thank You

There is a dirty lil secret the "urine guys" don't want most folks to know. Most of it is useless crap to begin with. NOT because it doesn't work and the idea of attracting deer with it is hogwash because it aint. The problem is that so called "fresh pee" is anything but and being a natural byproduct it begins to deteriorate the instant it comes into contact with air. Light and oxygen DESTROY urine, take piss on the floor and see what happens! [:'(] It will be "aromatic" within a couple hours. Urine basically breaks down into ammonia withing 24 hours if left in light and heat.

There are a few "urine guys" in the business that actually freeze the urine as soon as it is collected and I am MUCH more impressed with it's effectiveness in the woods than I am a 2 year old bottle of ammonia that has hung on the shelf in Walmart. The particular type we sold and personally used was Elkwood scents but I believe they were bought out and I am not sure of their quality now. The stuff was shipped frozen and we actually kept it frozen on the display floor. It was generally only good for about 36hours once thawed.

I personally like the new synthetic lures. They don't break down and are much more forgiving. BUT I haven't had a buck come bounding in on a string. Just more "curious" responses from deer that came across the track and winded my dragpads. Nothing negative, but like I said just seemed to be more a curiosity response than anything.

Personally I like NO SCENT when dealing with fully mature animals. They just are to weary and will seek out whats wrong if you appeal too their noses. The last thing I want is ol sad daddy comin in on alert more so than normal. I think you are better off with attractants like food scents or coverups like pine, cedar etc or eliminators like Scent Shield etc.
