jono my favorite stand is in the middle of a 40 acre field . i have a 10' tower penthouse stand that is in the wide open no trees around it. I just drive right up to it and climb up. i have two food plots about an acre and a half each to the north and south of the stand and almost always deer just stand and watch me climb up.
I have had them walk right up to my four wheeler parked below and smell it and just walk on. they even sometimes look up at me .
I love this stand cause it's great watching the sun come up and go down in. i just sit up there and drink my coffee and partake in my bad habit of smoking. I guess they know i love watching them and only want to good ones.
I have killed many good bucks from that stand and so has my son and my 15 yo cousin.
Deer are much more unpredictable than some think. many times i have heard people blame atv's for keeping bucks away when the truth is they are just hounding a doe that is not in thier area.
Plus i think the season just makes bucks nocturnal naturally.
But a hot doe will make even the most nocturnal buck move under any circumstance.
Now i am not saying they will not annoy deer but i have seen deer get spooked by armidillos, hogs, turkeys and tree rats!
Can't park them miles away!

I agree that it depends on what the deer are used to. I have pretty regular ATV use on my property. However, we stop riding at the end of August unless we have to go for a particular reason. Most of the time, during the summer, the deer will watch us ride by, and then go about their business, unless we get too close. I hunt another area of about 800 acres, and we use a golf cart to get to the stands. Generally, who ever is in the farthest stand from the house drops off the person riding with them, and takes the golf cart to the stand. I parked the golf cart right out side of my stand (within 3ft) on a regular basis. The deer don't even pay it any attention. The will walk within 15 ft of the cart and just keep right on walking and never check up. I killed a 215# 9pt last year with the golf cart parked between me and the deer. He just ignored it.

It all depends on if you normally ride your atv around your property. I hunt on a farm where tractors and trucks drive through the fields and side roads on a daily basis, so the deer really arent too spooked when you drive by unless you stop and stare at them for awhile, then they hightail for the cover of the woods.

Due to a disability and can't walk,I hunt from a ATV! Deer don't seem to care,I even bow hunt from mine. Turkeys are a little different,in the spring I get to my spot at least 1 hour before daylight,I have killed turkeys from my ATV but if I'm "busted",it's time to go home...

My one friends dad cant walk so good;so he gets to his tree stand by ATV and he gets his limit every year. So I also think it depends if the deer are use to the noise and arent afraid of the vehicle.
