doe with fawns
I have been seeing 5 big doe's they all have one fawn with them. don't deer have 2 or 3 fawns each year. Could this mean an unhealthy deer herd. It is all mountians around here could netrition be a factor? I have hunted other areas around here and most of the deer would have 2 little ones.

RE: doe with fawns
Yeah Bill, most does have twins ,I don't think you have an unhealthy deer herd though, I would say that it is just a coincidence. If you had a problem with the health in the herd they probably would not have any fawns. What kind of condition was these does in?

RE: doe with fawns
bill another reason the doe may only have one fawn could be due to the drought, I am not sure how bad it is down your way, but here in Va. it has been real bad. Shoot the big does and enjoy some fine eating.
