Default RE: Looking for deer feeder diagram/plans

I've never seen plans, but have seen several and made several which seem to work just fine. They are made out of schedule 40 PVC which is spray painted black and green after assembly, so it doesnt stand out quite so badly in the woods. Go to a local hardware or plumbing supply which has plumbing parts displayed for you to pick out your own. Start by finding a 4" 45 degree "Y" . Then find a flat topped "cap" which will just slide into one of the openings of the straight side of the "y". Then locate a 4" clean out cap that screws in, (the one with a square head is best) and the matching cap receiver. If you dont already have some, you will also need a can of PVC cleaner, primer, and glue. Next, go to the bolt section and pick up a 3/8" eye bolt, long enough to go through the square of the screw cap. Add two nuts and two washers to fit the same bolt. Then go to the pet section and pick up a light weight dog chain about 10 feet long. Your last item to buy is to go back to the PVC section and get a section of 4" PVC pipe. You can use any length of pipe you want, but longer than 6 feet gets to be hard to handle once it it full of corn.
Before you assemble everything at home, drill a 3/8" hole thru the center of the square of the screw in cap. Run a nut onto the eye bolt, add a washer and then fit the eye bolt thru the hole with a washer and nut on the other end. Tighten both nuts and screw the cap back into the receiver. Then drill a series of holes about an inch apart in the end of the flat cap, so rain water will drain out.
Now all you have to do is dry fit all the parts first, then clean, prime and glue the pieces together. Starting with the Y, fit the 6 foot long PVC pipe in the straight part of the Y, into the side with two openings. Slip the flat cap (with holes) into the other end of the straight part of the Y. Then Add your screw on cap and receiver to the other end of your 6 foot piece and you are ready for a camo paint job.
If you decide to use rope rather than dog chain, when you find the feeder on the ground rather than hanging in a tree, it is because squirels will chew through your rope.
Screw off the cap, fill the feeder with corn and hang it by throwing the chain over a limb and then wrap the chain around another limb and hook it into it's self. I like to have the Y opening on mine just low enough that a deer lowers his head slightly to eat.
Good Luck
