In Pa. no-unless you have a doctor certified disability- during the regular archery season.In the special regulation areas you may use x-bows during the bow season also.

In Ontario you can use crossbows for the entire deer season minus the rifle, black powder and shotgun weeks. Some areas will let you use a crossbow during rifle/black powder if you follow the rifle rules.

In Virginia only if a doctor declares you are disabled and only during archery season.

In arkansas you can use a crossbow from day one to the last day of "archery season". Thank god i live in arkansas!!!!!!!!!
i have not decided which i will hunt with first crossbow or compound?
I love having the option!
