In the picture, is it attached to the tree with nylon straps?

I think Its nylon, like the old service belts with about a 4in piece that stretches and holds it tight.
I think it holds and works really well.
I'm hopeing for the new leafriver infrared to be at my door step any day now.

RE: Leaf River Scouting Camera

Hey guys, I have some questions about these cameras...I'm thinking about getting one.

1. Is the DC-2 any different than the DC-1 (other than the viewing screen)?
2. Regarding compact flash cards...any suggestions on these (size, brand, etc)?My thinking is that I will get 2 cards, and just change out the card when I go to check it, and take the card home. Thats why I was thinking the DC-2 would not really be neccesary, since I probably wouldn't view the pics on the cam in the field.
3. How do you view your pics? I was thinking to get a separate card viewer so I could view the pics on my TV also. Any suggestions on this?If I just have the card...can I still load the pics onto my pc(without the cam)?
4. What type of security do these cameras have? I know that nothing is theif proof if they really want it, but was curious as the ad's don't really show or tell much.
5. Last thing...does anyone have the infared camera yet? What is the price on those, and what advantages do they have over the DC-1 & DC-2?

I am a game cam rookie as you can probably tell by these stupid questions, but am very much looking forward to getting one. Thanks for your input & suggestions/advice!

I appreciate it :D

I'm not sure but I think the mpeg is hire, thats for resulotion of the pic's.
Most are fine from what I hear and I oput a 512 in mine and I could leave it for a long time. I average about 3 to 4 hundred pic's a week.
I view mine on the camera and a lap top which I take with me.
security it has a bar that you can put 2 lk's on it. A place to run a cable through it and around a tree.
Plus a place to lock it with out the bar.
the infrared, should have it anytime.

The comments on this unit have me interested. I have been giving some thought on buying a digital game cam for use on some private land I have permission to hunt. Would this be the unit to go with?...at least in reference to the most bang for the buck.

Also, in case some of you don't frequent the bowhunting forum then check out this bruiser I have frequenting one of my favorite hunting areas.....
