RE: How is everyone????
Ed,
Glad to hear you and the family are alright!!!!
Same goes for you Tara and Shelly!
My brother lost 18 trees on his 4 acres by the dells, but the house was spared. He was lucky. I was up by Lake Delton this past weekend seeing my Dad. Sunday we made a trip over to Ho-Chunk casino to do a little gambling since the weather was rotten. Coming from Oxford towards the Wisconsin dells, the destruction got more evident the closer we got to the dells. We actually were going to go down the road that was eventually washed away by the high waters on Lake Delton. But, they had the road blocked off because of water over the road there. , so we had to go another way. To think only hours later the lake drained, just blows me away. When I saw the video,
I was just shocked! To think a whole lake can drain that fast is just unbelievable! I feel for the people that lost their beautiful house's on that lake. But Thank the good Lord, no one was injured! It's going to take a long time for that once beautifullake to fill up again.

Here's the Video of a beautiful $ 500,000 house floatingout ofLake Delton and into the Wisconsin river. It looked like a friggin house boat!
I can't imagine the look on the owners face when he saw it on the news.

Bummer!!!!

RE: How is everyone????
Grandma up by Portage, Wi had to evacuate with 3 feet of water in her house.
Not to far from Cascade Ski hill and just one big mess up there right now.
Add the bad news that her cancer has come back and nothing can be done
just makes you wonder sometimes.

Man I feel for all of you people that were involved or effected in anyway with this destruction that happened by the Dells. I hope you all can re group and get things in order again.
My heart goes out to you also Peak. Like you said it really makes you wonder sometimes. When is enough enough? I wish I knew that answer!

Peak,
Sorry to hear about your Grandma. My thoughts and Prayers are with you and your family, and especially with your Grandma. I lost my Mom to Cancer on St. Pattys Day this year, and I'm just not the same person I was when she was around. But.... everyday gets a little better.
My Momand my Dad lived in Oxford, not far from your Grandma. I pray the water goes down for everyone involved. Here in northern Illinois. The water has crept within about 15 feet of my backdoor. I know things could be worse though. Last year, we had water 3/4s of the way up our driveway around our house. I got home from work this morning, and the water got deeper in our subdivision, already flooding about 7 houses. Luckily enough, were about 3 feet higher than they are. I really feel for those poor people in Cedar Rapids Iowa.
Hey Todd, Tyler, or Dallas, whats the Skunk river doing as of late?

RE: How is everyone????
Went and worked on the sand-bag lines last night just north of Burlington Iowa yesterday afternoon. Unbelieveable is an understatement. It's as though the land has turned into a sea. Litterally miles upon miles of farmland covered under about 10 ft. of water! I'm going to write a field journal about the experience and get it up soon!
