Well my buddy Fish and I worked this group of birds for over an hour when we finally got them to committ to us. My buddy Fish was in my little pop up tent and useing his gun but it was to small for me to draw my bowin it so the plan was for him to play clean up after my shot.. Well the first Tom in was a jake with about a 4 inch beard and a hen but we could see a line of Tom's still coming so I held off on my shot, what a mistake, here I am just sitting behind the tent in the open with 6 Tom's and 4 hen's walking around in front of us. Well the long beard finally turned broad side and I thought the rest weren't looking so I drew my bow and 1 of the jakes spotted me and putted and started to run so I finished getting to full draw and shot. The shot felt great you know one of those that looks and feels great as the arrow goes, well my arrow pasted threw the bird right where I aimed and feathers went flying and he just ran like nothing happened. Well when a bird is puffed up you had better shoot alittle lower than you think because all I cut was feathers and the arrow placment look great at the time. Well the bird wasn't so lucky because Fish mowed him down at about 40 yards on a dead run!!He is about 22 pounds and has a 8 1/2 inch beard.Congrats Fish!! Walt
