Default Southern Illinois shed hunt

Well boys we walked for a solid 9 hours and didn't even cover the whole farm. We only found 3 sheds all little 1 1/12 but we found 3 dead 8 pts and one 7 pt.Taters 8pt was about 130 Kelly's about 120 and my 8pt and 7 were about 115, Most of the deer we seen were on the nieghbors green feild areas, Most of what we can't walk but the green feilds we could are like 150-200 acres of tall grass kinda like a needle and a hay stack. Eric will be posting the pics hopefully soon.. Walt

That kinda sucks to find those up and comers dead. Do you think they were EHD deaths or killed later during hunting season?

At least you guys found some! That really is sad to see that you found 4 bucks that had passed. That could of been 4 giants in the upcoming years!! It looks like you guys had fun and that's what matters.

Dude - who was all gun hunting on that piece last year? How many wounded deer had you heard about before this?

Only 3 guys gun hunted and none claimed to have lost any!!! Taters was EHD it still had velvet on it and Kellys looked to be two years old but both of mine who knows.. According to the land owner all the big boys made it through gun because he seen all of them so there is hope. Most of the herd seems to be wintering on nieghboring prop in thegrasslands, we were seeing up to a hundred in the feilds. Most of our bedding areas got flooded out in the heavy rains you could see where 15 foot sections of 6 foot round trees were moved hundreds of yards in floods. we also found like 20 dead does skelatons around..
