anyone know if cold weather takes into effect on a minidv video camera's performance??? i just bought a hard drive video camera and it records it in a special format where you can't edit it[:@][:'(]. gunna take that one back and go with a MiniDV.

anyone know any good one's for around $500???

Thats cool we live in the same town, anyway I have a GL2 andmoisture and humidity defininitly effect it. I also have a sony handycam that just seems to rock in any conditions, I used it on the opener this year Humid and raining. Got great footage.

For the $500 price range you can get a 3 chip(3 CCCD)camera in miniDV. Its called the Panasonic GS500. MSRP is around $1000 but you can get them on Ebay for alittle less than $500 and at camera shops for around 7 bills. Hope this helps.
