Calling Black Bears
I was just wondering if anyone has been successful with calling bears? My Dad and I are going spring bear hunting on April 15th near Mt. Rainier. We have a Fox Pro electronic call that we are thinking about using. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

USING MOUTH PREDATOR CALLS WE HAVE CALLED IN 2. BUT YOU HAVE TO KEEP CALLING NOT CALL INTERMITTENTLY. ONE WAS A BLIND CALL AND WE GOT THE BEAR OTHER WAS CALLING BEAR WE HAD SEEN. FRIEND GOT HIM WITHIN 20 YARDS QUIT CALLING TO GET READY FOR SHOT AND BEAR WOULD TURN TO LEAVE HE WOULD CALL HIM BACK IN AND STOP AT 20 YARDS AND IT WOULD TURN AND LEAVE. FRIEND WAS SHOOTING RECURVE AND WANTED THE BEAR INSIDE 15 YARDS. I WAS 100 YARDS AWAY VIDEOING. HAVE TRIED IT WITH GRIZZLEY WE HAVE SEEN AND THEY RUN AWAY AS IF YOU HAD HIT THEM IN THE BUTT WITH A 2 X 4......NO RABBITS WHERE THESE BEARS WERE? HAVE ALSO TRIED MOOSE CALF IN DISTRESS CALLS BEFORE FOR GRIZ WITH NO LUCK. FOX PRO SHOULD DO THE TRICK.

Yep, and it works. Have called them in with predator calls as well as cow elk calls.
Here is a link to a pic of the one I called in a couple weeks ago.
