I have an opportunity to stay in Casa Grande anytime I want. There is also a 4 wheeler available to me if I desire. I have never hunted in Az but would like to persue Muleys or whitetails. What is your suggestion if you had this opportunity ? Keep in mind I am a non resident who has never been there?
a) whitetails easier (more available) then Mulies?
b) Location , Location , Location I will need to drive from Casa Grande to & from the hunt each day
c) Draw for everything? whitetails & Mulies?

A. No, there are more mule deer then whitetail and the whitetails are very small a big whitetail buck weighs 100 lbs.

B. Lots of locations to hunt just contact the Arizona game and fish www.azgfd.com

C. I have lived in AZ for almost a year and put in for the fall mule deer hunt and didnt get drawn, I know people who have lived here for a few years and still havent got drawn, a friend of mine has lived here for 40 years and put in for elk every year and just finally got drawn for a bull elk just this fall. The drawing system sucks but maybe better for non residents since arizona seems to not care about their resident hunters anymore ( they love outta state money) You might be best off to get your tags through an outfitter. good luck

Couldnt you get tags OTC do they still do that there in AZ....

The only tags you can get OTC are smallgame, migratory bird and archery deer tags. all other tags are through the drawing.

You can't get tags "through an Outfitter" in AZ.

You can also get mountain lion tags OTC, and bear tags, sort of....
